It’s 2005 when two young boys and one young girl, born and rise in different parts of Italy but linked by the common vision of the theatre, found the company Menoventi. Consuelo Battiston, Gianni Farina and Alessandro Miele choose a name that represent a temperature – glacial – and, at the same time a name that is a metaphor that can be always filled with new meanings. The three – authors, performers, directors, technicians – entitle their firts work In Festa, a short apologue about the lonlyness and emptyness in which we are submersed. After that, showing a interess toward a research open to heterogeneous influences, Invisibilmente – about the control our lifes are submitted to without knowing it, and Semiramis, taken from the drama dedicated to the terrible empress of Babilonia, written by Calderòn de la Barca. Other works are Postilla, performance for one spectator and the recent L’Uomo della sabbia, an original interpretation of the unheimliche created by Hoffmann. The last expression of the dynamic and multifaceted spirit of the company is the short film Perdere la faccia, realized in collaboration with Daniele Ciprì. Sharp, irriverent, curios, creative, Menoventi wins the Hystrio-Castel dei Mondi award, dedicated to a young distinguish company and his able trajectory.
